Guide to the Perfect Pregnancy Announcement!
Many people have fur babies before human babies so it's fitting that your dog is involved in your big announcement!
That Dog Shop has a large range of Pregnancy Announcement Dog Bandanas in a range of colours and designs to suit any dog and any announcement.
Let's start off with the basics!
1. Choosing your bandana

Choose a colour that will really pop against your dogs fur. My two dogs are dark so I tend to opt for red or grey for them. For my second pregnancy announcement I choose grey and red to mix it up a little bit!
2. Consider props
Take your announcement to the next level by using props! A popular way to add some more information to your announcement is by adding a letter board or a framed ultrasound picture.
3. Taking a great photo
Decide on a spot - this should have plenty of natural light. An overcast day is perfect if you can manage this! I like to take many of my photos outside as this requires the least editing post-photoshoot.
If your dog isn't used to wearing a bandana, let them sniff it before putting it in. Let them wear it around the house for a little while so they're nice and relaxed come photo time. If the bandana needs it, give it a light iron on the reverse size on a cool setting, just enough to take any wrinkles out.
Having a second person around to help things run smoothly can help immensely. Once you've got everything set up, have a second person on hand with some treats - if you need a little assistance getting your dog to look at the camera, you can always have someone stand behind you with the treats.
Take LOTS of photos! Out of 50 you may only get a few usable photos depending on how often your dog likes to move during the process.
Once you're confident you've got a great shot, it's treat time!
4. Editing your photos
If your photos need a little tweaking try Snapseed or Lightroom apps - they're easy to use and can give some great results with just a few adjustments.
I hope you've enjoyed this guide to taking the perfect pregnancy announcement photos. Remember have fun with it and congratulations from That Dog Shop!
